UNMISS hands over judiciary office to Tonj government

The United Nations Missions in South Sudan or UNMISS on Tuesday handed over the judiciary office to the Tonj State government.
 
Radio Don Bosco reported that Food and Agriculture Development Agency built the office last April with funded from UNMISS.
 
Tonj State Governor Akec Tong Aleu vows to protect human rights despite all challenges that may arise.
 
He says his state is in peace for nine months now.
 
The Governor urges Tonj communities to maintain peace for development to take place.
 
Hundreds of people including UNMISS personnel, government officials and residents of Tonj town turned up for the ceremony.
 
The function was coloured with dramas, artists’ performances and speeches.
