Community FM radio in South Sudan is the most powerful medium in the whole Africa in delivering information to the public, says, Internews Director
Deborah Ensor says South Sudan has the best strength compared to the ninety countries Internews work for in Africa.
In the survey Internews conducted recently, 50 percent of the people asked said radio is the only medium to resolve peace in South Sudan, she notes.
The director says it is through the radio that South Sudan can realize free society for all citizens.
UNESCO representative Sardar Umar Alam says records of the world indicate that South Sudan is one of the countries where radio works better in uniting people.
The officials were addressing World Radio Day celebration in Juba under the local theme: ‘Radio is you’.
The international them was ‘Audience participation and engagement’.
