The Association of Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS Chairperson is calling on government to release detained UN Radio Miraya journalist, George Livio Bahara.

Livio has been imprisoned for three years without trials, says Alfred Taban.

Taban calls for immediate release of Livio to show a positive gesture for the intended national dialogue for peace.

He appeals to the government to improve the atmosphere of journalists.

AMDISS Chairperson vows to continue talking against violations of media rights.

Taban says the detention of Radio Miraya journalist, George Livio for over three years is a big problem to address.

Josephine Achiro, chairperson for World Radio Day celebration committee in South Sudan says the occasion reflects on challenges and achievements of mass media in the country.

The World Radio Day will be marked on Monday, February thirteenth under the theme ‘Radio is yours’.
