The First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan has blamed his region of Upper Nile for starting war in the country.
Taban Deng Gai told a gathering of National Unity Day celebration in Juba recently that December 2013 conflict was initiated by Upper Nile region, Juba Monitor Newspaper reports.
He says if his people had not accepted the call for war by some politicians from the region, the country would have not descended into chaos.
General Deng warns the youth of Upper Nile not to accept any call for war.
He urges people to forgive and forget the past for realization of sustainable peace and unity.
Juba Monitor Newspaper has not reported any explanation given by First Vice President Deng why he himself was convinced to participate in the two-year long conflict.
