Fire outbreak at Gosene area of Juba has reduced at least 36 huts to ashes with all property lost, says a victim.
The source says a neighbour left a burning candle in his hut as he slept outside due to excessive heat.
The incident happened at almost 10:00 PM on Monday night, the source narrates.
She says rescue efforts from Fire Brigade were too late.
The Fire Brigade had to run to the River Nile for water to put off the flame, making the rescue in vain, the source says.
Another victim says he lost everything to fire and thieves at night.
Speaking in Bari, he says thieves took advantage of the fire outbreak by carrying out whatever was recovered from the burning huts.
The victims of the fire outbreak are appealing for assistance from humanitarian agencies.
