The community of Ketire Payam of Geria County in Imotong State is threatening to expel a teak logging company Teckna South Sudan Limited.
The community accuses the Company of felling the trees without building school, health center and roads, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Loboi Abraham, Ketire Chief, says the community is sad the company did not meet their priorities in return of the forest.
Laudina Keji, Chairlady of Ketire Women Association, says the community agreed to expel the Teckna Company because it has failed to fulfill their demands.
Ketire Youth Representative, Sebit Lokang, says any company that will come to cut the forest must plant replacements.
John Karvello, Teckna Limited Director says there were logistical delays and appeals to the community to be patient as the process to build the health center is underway as the first priority.
Geria County Commissioner, Dominic Onyu, says the government will still look at the community concerns before taking any decision against the company.
Ketire Forest is located some 50 kilometers South of Torit, the area has about 100 hectors of both natural and plantation forest mostly Teakk and Mahogany planted since 1940.
Teckna Company limited signed an agreement with the Imotong State government and community to harvest the forest and build social amenities in return.
