Justice and Peace Commission of Wau Catholic Diocese on Thursday conducted a one-day dialogue on human rights.

The dialogue attracted actors including civil society organizations, government officials, organized forces and community leaders and IDPs in various camps, Radio Voice of Hope reports.

Angelina Ayen Chigai, a pastor of Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan says the seminar aims to build trust between the population and the government.

For security to prevail there should be good cooperation between the government and citizens, she adds.

Natalina Andrea, Justice and Peace Commission Director of Wau Catholic, says everyone has a role to play in promoting human rights.

Stephen Robo, CEPO Wau State Coordinator, says many people do not know their rights even when they are arrested.

They could not know who arrest them and why were they arrested, he adds.

Since the conflict erupted in Wau in June last year, Justice and Peace Commission has been organizing similar workshops to reconcile communities in the state.
