Imotong State Ministry of Education is enrolling unqualified teachers for intensive training to help improve the quality of education.

It is difficult to get qualified teachers as many have abandoned the profession due to little and delayed salaries, says the ministry as Radio Emmanuel reports.

Okot Robert, Administrator for County Education Center Torit, says the ministry is now making efforts to develop the capacity of teachers willing to continue in the profession even without enough teaching skills.

Robert says all teachers in the rural schools will be trained and their salaries increased.

The teachers being trained come from all twelve counties of Imotong State.
