Lakes citizens mourn South Sudan former Chief Justice

The community of Lakes region and South Sudan at large is mourning the former Chief Justice John Wuol Makec who died in Juba on Monday after long illness.
 
Lakes President of High Court Justice, Charles Oyo Nyawella, Thursday describes the death of Wuol as a great lost to all people of South Sudan, Radio Good News reports.
 
‘The late John Wuol has done what he came to do on earth in terms of education and service delivery’, says Dr Oyo.
 
Lakes President of High Court says the legacy of the late John Wuol would be continued by his students and close friends he worked with.
 
President Nyawella consoles the family that all people of South Sudan are mourning the former Chief Justice.
 
Late Justice John Wuol Makec holds the Bachelor of Laws from the University of Khartoum and a Master of Laws from University of London.
 
He has written extensively on customary laws and legal systems.
 
The late Wuol was the author of The Customary Law of the Dinka People of Sudan.
 
His last assignment was serving as chairman of the Investigation Committee on Human Rights Abuses following the mid-December 2013 crisis.
 
His body is expected to arrive in Rumbek on Friday for burial.
