“The United Kingdom, Norway and the United States say they are shocked by the reckless allegation of SPLA officer that Troika countries are working with the armed opposition to overthrow President Salva Kiir’s government.

They deny the accusation that representatives of the US and opposition joined Troika colleagues for a meeting in Nairobi, Kenya to discuss eliminating or changing the leadership.

“We are proud of the consistent help our governments have given to the Republic of South Sudan and its people during the CPA and since independence”, they say in a statement.

Troika will not hesitate to raise concerns about actions that could undermine the Peace Agreement, part of the statement reads.

It welcoms President Kiir’s announcement of a national dialogue.

Troika calls for inclusive process that involves parties which are ready to contribute to the future of this country.

It urges all warring parties to move forward with a real ceasefire.

Troika also looks forward to the deployment of the Regional Protection Force to South Sudan as mandated by the United Nations Security Council.
