United Nation Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS on Friday awarded medals and certificates to 150 Rwandan troops in Torit for their contribution to peacekeeping in the young country.
Major John Bosco Mbayiye, Rwandan Battalion One Commander in Torit, says the troops contributed in the protection of civilians and development programs, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Mary Cummins, UNMISS Head of Field Office in Torit, acknowledged the contribution of the peacekeepers in protecting, staff, citizens and humanitarian workers across the country.
The Rwanbatt Bravo Company was deployed in Western, Central and Eastern Equatoria States since March last year.
