Yei Catholic Bishop repeats the need for a permission letter from the government for churches to meet the armed groups in the bush to find out their grievances.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe, who is also the Chairperson of Yei Church Leaders Ecumenical Team, says the permission will avoid disturbances at checkpoints, Radio Easter reports.
He says the church is not a spy to any party, but its task to make sure that the fighting should not continue.
Governor David Lokonga has already approved the churches to find ways of meeting the armed opposition to know their reasons of fighting, says Stephen Lado Onesimo, State Information Minister.
He says the state government is still waiting for a respond from the national government.
The leaders spoke during a meeting on Wednesday that involved the SPLA officials and church leaders on how to build civil and military relations in Yei.
