No tribal fighting happened in Yei despite fleeing of residents since July last year crisis, says State Political Advisor.

Jackson Abugo Gama says though there had been a buildup in mistrust and tribal hatreds, no tribe had mobilized to fight the other, Radio Easter reports.

He adds that some targeted killings along highways had increased hatred among tribes and increased fear to flee.

Abugo explains that such acts led to a breakdown in civil-military relations coupled with the presence of armed opposition in the bush.

He says time has come for South Sudanese to rebuild relations through dialogue forgiveness and reconciliation.

Yei River County Commissioner Denis Lasuba says both civilians and military should now show a practical change of behavior and peaceful coexistence.

They were speaking at the opening of Yei dialogue for peace chaired by top SPLA commanders in Yei headquarters on Thursday.
