The Governor of Imotong State is planning to take hold of all public lands given to individuals by the former government of the Eastern Equatoria State.
Nartisio Loluke says all individuals who acquired public lands, including the airstrip in Torit must surrender, Radio Emmanuel reports.
He adds that all individual lands grabbed by the former government will also be given back to the rightful owners.
Governor Loluke says his government will compensate those who hold government plots.
He calls on those who were given plots at the airport to report to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure with all documents.
Loluke says the government plans to issue land to individuals so as to expand the town and generate revenue to the state.
The governor calls on the communities in Torit not to interrupt government plans to issue land to individuals for settlement.
