Christians of Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan in Yei celebrated Christmas despite random gunshots.

According to Radio Easter, gunshots were heard as Christians were listening to the first reading of the English morning mass.

Government officials including Yei State Governor David Lokonga among others were at the mass.

Bishop Hillary Luate Adeba consoles the panicking Christians that the church is the safest place.

He describes the shooting as ‘temptation and intentions of the devil’.

State Governor Lokonga assures Christians that God and the government are in control of the situation.

The leaders made the remarks at Emmanuel Cathedral on Christmas Day.
