National dialogue requires neutral trusted forum, says Church Parliamentarian

The national dialogue can only succeed if there is an impartial trusted discussion with all stakeholders, says a Church Parliamentarian in Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
 
Isaac Kenyi Kungur participated in church leaders’ consultative meeting for peace in Nairobi, Kenya over the weekend.
 
He says the church is the best leader of the national dialogue because of its neutrality, moral authority and experience in peace building.
 
Kungur believes that for any national dialogue to achieve something, all stakeholders must be present.
 
He says President Salva Kiir’s initiative of national dialogue must be subjected to examination for correct interpretation.
 
The Church Leaders’ Mediation Initiative met in Kigali, Rwanda in June, 2015 and resolved on constructive engagement with the government and all stakeholders to consult on national dialogue.
