The Catholic Bishop of Rumbek said Mission Sunday is a call to share and witness one’s faith in God, encouraging the faithful to put God first in order to obtain peace.
The Catholic Church celebrates World Mission Sunday tomorrow, a day set aside every year for Catholics all over the world to renew their commitment to preach the Gospel.Bishop Caesar Mazzolari told Good News Radio that through the celebration the entire world is united in prayer for the growth of the Church, emphasizing the need to share the gift of faith by giving witness in “word and deeds” to Jesus Christ.
Bishop Mazzolari said there are many places in the world where the Good News of Jesus Christ has not yet been preached.
He added that the Good News was relevant to any people who needed peace.
Bishop Mazzolari insisted on the need to bring more and more people to the knowledge and reverence of God, explaining that the world can have peace if people depend on God.
The Bishop reminded the faithful that the financial contributions made on Mission Sunday were used to enable missionaries reach out to what he described as “many geographical areas of the world where God is not yet known”.
