Solar power to light medical facilities in South Sudan

Director-General in the national Ministry of Health says discussions are underway for medical facilities to use solar power for electricity.
 
Dr Alexander Dimiti wonders why solar system is not used in the health facilities.
 
He says nurses and midwives should not be using mobile phones for lighting medical facilities.
 
Dr Dimiti says God is very kind to South Sudanese by providing free sunlight that could be converted to electricity.
 
Professor Staffan Bergstrom says health development partners are working to see South Sudan improves the quality of midwives.
 
Siama Abdalla is the Acting President of South Sudan Nurses and Midwifery Association.
 
She says the association will address new born and adolescent health in the country.
 
The officials were speaking during UNFPA handover ceremony of a newly constructed office structure to South Sudan Nurses and Midwifery Association at Juba Teaching Hospital.
