Imotong State artists make music for peace

Local artists in Imotong State are using music and drama to send out peace messages to communities about the situation in South Sudan.
 
‘Artists for Peace and Cultural Diversity’ was the theme of the concert at Fr Saturlino Ohure Mausoleum in Torit over the weekend, Radio Emmanuel reported.
 
A local artist, Jackline Ihure, known as J Miss, discouraged all songs that promote violence and those praising killers.
 
Tommy Flame is another artist who believes his music can minimize atrocities committed in South Sudan and bring about unity.
 
Ohucholi Patrick, Imotong State Artist Union Chairperson, advised the local artists not to give up, but continue educating communities using their talents.
 
Josephine Akulang, Imotong State Information and Culture Minister is optimistic that issues of South Sudan can be addressed in a peaceful way.
 
The Artists through their music, drama, poems and drawings like to send messages of peace to the public.
 
They also want to challenge all the negative communications about the conflict in South Sudan.
