A community in Kichama area of Hieban County in Nuba Mountains on Tuesday held a cultural day to encourage learners to pursue their education.
The ceremony was to encourage students who managed to complete their secondary studies among others, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
Kichama West Youth Chairman James Albino Sherree advises the students to cheer up their fellow learners to achieve their future goals through education.
He noted that learning is important and lack of it led the region to be marginalized.
Deputy Mayor, Saied Omar Mohamud, urged citizens not to forget the cultural practices of the region.
Omar persuaded learners particularly girls not to dropout of schools.
The ceremony attracted community leaders and representatives of civil organizations in the region.
