The International Committee for the Red Cross or ICRC in Rumbek reports that its Physical Rehabilitation Center has helped about one thousand patients since 2013.
Muhanad Ahmed Hussein of ICRC says they gave artificial limbs and wheelchairs to patients, Radio Good News reports.
He adds that cases of disabilities are high especially in Greater Lakes State.
Ahmed says they give persons with disabilities artificial mobility devices to restore their hope of participating in community activities and improve their lives.
The biggest challenge is lack of public awareness about services and poor road network for patients far, says Masashi Tsudaka ICRC Rumbek head of office.
International Committee of the Red Cross took over Rumbek Physical Rehabilitation Centre since 2013 and offers all services free of charge.
