South Sudan and Africa Oil and Power have agreed to work in partnership on promotion of foreign direct investment in the country.

President Salva Kiir is scheduled to address Africa Oil and Power in June, 2017 in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Africa Oil and Power conference is expected to discuss development in South Sudan oil and power industry.

The government says it has adopted a strong pro-business attitude to expand the petroleum sector and increase exploration to boost the country’s economy.

South Sudan oil production has declined since mid December 2013 violence.

The country now produces 130 thousand barrels per day instead of 500 thousand barrels.
