US Ambassador meets Yei religious leaders

Ambassador of United States to South Sudan Catherine on Wednesday visited Yei to meet the religious leaders and other stakeholders.
 
Catherine Molly Phee was accompanied by Humanitarian Coordinator Eugene Owusu, and other UN delegates, Radio Easter reports.
 
Owusu says the visit was to understand the humanitarian situation and other challenges in order to support the people of Yei.
 
Ambassador Molly Phee says their visit was to acquaint themselves with the situation in Yei so that international community makes efforts to end the ongoing insecurity.
 
Meanwhile Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe on behalf of religious leaders says the humanitarian situation has improved following the food distribution to the people of the area.
 
He earlier appreciates the officials for their visit.
 
The delegation also met state government authorities and women groups.
