Lepers call for consideration and support

The people living with leprosy in Lachok of Tonj State appeal to the society to consider them as part of the community.
 
Pasqualo Mayom Deng complains that they sometime feel neglected, Radio Don Bosco reports.
 
He says only Salesians priests are always supporting them with feeding, medication and shelter.
 
Mayom appreciates the Salesians of Don Bosco for their kindness.
 
Lives of lepers are terrible as most are blind, without hands and legs only relying on support from others, says William Akol, one of the blind members without hands.
 
Alaat Karithith calls on authorities to hear voices of the people with disabilities.
 
She complains that leaders do not visit them these days.
 
Lachok, leprosy colony area, is located eight kilometers outside Tonj town accommodating more than 250 people.
