Chiefs and mayors in Kichama area of Hieban County in the Nuba Mountains suggest that leaders should take full responsibility in controlling price rise.
They believe the instability of Sudanese Pounds is making citizens to doubt its value and steadiness, Radio Voice of Peace reports.
The call came after a man in Kichama reportedly slaughtered his cow in exchange for other items instead of money.
The man demanded sorghum, pumpkin seeds among others instead of currency, says Timas Hassan, the area Deputy Chief.
Hassan says traders prefer items to money.
