Gbudue State government and partners on Thursday launched 16 days of activism against gender-based violence in Yambio.
 
This year’s campaign is under the theme: ‘From peace in the home to peace in the world: make education safe for all’, Radio Anisa reports.
 
Jackline John Lollis, UNHCR Representative has requested the government for the inclusion of the refugees in the exercise.
 
Stop abduction of women and girls for sexual activities, she appeals to armed forces.
 
Yambio County Commissioner, Grace Apollo, calls for team work with partners and the community to end violence against women and girls.
 
Spread educative and positive information that can reduce cases of gender-based violence in the state, she urges.
 
State Education Acting Minster, Jackson Ezekiel Bugwa regrets the fact that South Sudanese refugees are suffering.
 
The awareness on gender-based violence is expected to continue in the state until the tenth of December this year.
