Football club coaches, referees and officials decry lack of proper playgrounds for sports’ activities in Yei.
The sports actors complain that matches are ever disrupted at Yei Freedom Square playground by public gatherings or weather, Radio Easter reports.
They are appealing to authorities to allocate a piece of land to all 20 football clubs in Yei to establish playgrounds and offices.
The actors also say they lack sponsors.
Yei River County Commissioner, Denis Lasuba says he will consult community leaders about the matter.
He assures clubs, players and officials of government’s readiness to improve security for the people.
Yei River State Minister of Sports, Stephen Lado Onesimo promises to look for support from relevant non-governmental organizations to help clubs.
He reassures that his ministry will work hard to empower the youth in their activities.
The officials were speaking in a general meeting in Yei on Saturday.
