Prepare early fire lines to prevent looming dry season bush burning in the country, Director-General of Forestry and Agriculture, advises citizens.
David Taban Silas says ‘people must prepare fire-lines around their compounds and gardens’ to safeguard them from loses, Radio Easter reports.
He reiterates that wild fire is yearly witnessed in February fueled with strong wind and sun heat.
Taban blames wild meat hunters and landlords for unnecessary burning bush during dry season to destroy the environment including trees and sending away animals.
He warns further bush burning continuous to cause desertification.
The Director-General made the statements after the ministry early this week directed residents and farmers to prepare fire-lines to avoid dry season wild fire.
