Take immediate measures to end violence and uphold collective responsibility to protect civilians from atrocities, UN Advisor on Prevention of Genocide urged South Sudanese, regional and international community leaders.
 
Adama Dieng made the call as he was leaving Juba over the weekend after five-day visit to the country.
 
He said ethnicity should not be used as a reason to incite violence and that all must put strive for peace in South Sudan, he stressed.
 
Advisor Dieng said he is doing his part by informing the international community of possible indicators of genocide in South Sudan.
 
He urges members of African Union, UN Security Council and IGAD to take quick action to prevent occurrence of genocide in the country.
