Church remains ‘neutral’ in peace building, says priest

The Church continues to stand neutral to engage both sides in conflict in bringing peace to the country, says a priest in Yei Catholic Diocese.
 
Fr Tom Poru Martin says church leaders will still struggle to meet the youth who took up arms to know their grievances to end ongoing conflict, Radio Easter reported.
 
Fr Poru says government and armed opposition groups should not look at the church as a spy in its struggle for an amicable solution to the violence.
 
The Catholic priest warns South Sudan politicians against confusing masses and fueling continuous killings, division and destruction.
 
Fr Poru says South Sudanese prayers are very powerful to bring peace to the nation.
 
The priest was speaking during the women inter-denomination prayers at Christ the King Cathedral recently.
