It will be ”unfortunate” if war continues in Gbudue State particularly and in South Sudan at large, says UN Secretary-General Special Representative.

Ellen Margrethe Loj in her first visit to Yambio on Sunday said the fighting will hamper development in the state, Radio Anisa reported.

She urges the state and national governments to do their utmost to implement the signed peace agreement to stop long suffering of South Sudanese.

Margrethe cited misunderstanding about the freedom of movement of UN agencies in Gbudwe and other parts of the Country.

She says UN agencies do not need approval for their movement, but only tell the authorities where they are going because they have their forces to protect them.

Victor Edward Kpiawandu, Gbudue Acting Governor, confirms that state is relatively calm.

Economic insecurity is the only major problem because most of the networks connecting Gbudue to other states and neighbouring countries are unsecured, he added.

The Acting Governor commended the UN family services to citizens in the state.
