Over 70 suspected cholera cases reported in Bentiu IDPs’ camp, says IOM

International Organization for Migration or IOM says 78 suspected cases of cholera have been reported in Bentiu Protection of Civilians’ site since October.
 
Five cases have been confirmed, the agency says in a statement.
 
IOM says it is responding to the outbreak with immediate treatment.
 
Stopping spread of cholera is critical, the agency says.
 
Over 100 thousand Internally Displaced Persons are living in very close quarters, says Dr Andrew Mbala, IOM Health Officer.
 
Health and hygiene promotion teams are increasing awareness campaigns to the IDPs, IOM says.
