The Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism, CTSAMM Chairman says grassroots’ engagement is critical to the effective implementation of South Sudan’s shaky peace agreement.
Sharing information, ideas and opinions with the non-political stakeholders in South Sudan on issues of mutual concern is crucial, says Major General Molla Hailemariam in a press statement.
He says CTSAMM is particularly keen to ensure a wider understanding of its mandate and tackling misperceptions of its role.
CTSAMM is concluding a two-day workshop this Saturday explaining the four pillars of the August 2015 Peace Agreement such as cessation of hostilities, cessation of hostile propaganda, protection of civilians and unhindered humanitarian access.
The role of Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring Mechanism is to monitor and verify compliance and non-compliance of the agreement with regard to the four pillars.
