Minister of Finance in Wau State has accused traders of bribing police to increase prices in the markets.
Akol Majok says the prices in the market of Wau are not acceptable, Radio Voice of Hope reports.
He explains that prices are not stable as 50 kg bag of sugar last week cost more than six thousand; 50 kg of flour was five thousand and 16 liters of gasoline was more than two thousand SSP.
You are to be blamed because you bribe police officers to keep increasing the prices, we are not blaming the police on that and you have to accept this, the Minister argued.
On his part, Wau Police Commissioners Lieutenant General Majak Aroal Kachoal assures traders to apprehend any officer found guilty of bribery.
He says no body is above the law and that the security will take responsibility of bringing any violator to justice.
The official were reacting on traders’ complain on random collection of money in the markets in the beginning of the week.
