The current breakup within South Sudan opposition parties is regretable and needs to be resolved, says Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, JMEC Chairman.

Festus Mogae says inclusivity and representation within political process and all parties in essential institutions of the peace deal must be re-established as quickly as possible.

His statement came during the opening of meeting on Wednesday in Juba after July violence.

All parties are urged to return to re-engage in peaceful dialogue, Mogae says.

Hostilities must end and the ceasefire must be observed by all parties with immediate effect, the Chairman stresses.

Mogae calls for quick deployment of the Regional Protection Force to establish a neutral and secure environment for the implementation of the Peace Agreement.
