Youth of Himodonge Payam in Torit County known as Monyomiji initiated a patrol to ensure the safety of the people and property on the road.

The move followed the incident that occurred along Torit-Ketire road last week, Radio Emmanuel reports.

Payam Chief Elias Oboi Akilo expressed sadness on the continuous lootings on innocent civilians along the road.

He says the attackers are frustrating the peace and that the area community condemned the acts.

The government has to cooperate with the youth in a joint patrol to ensure the security of the road is safe for the citizens, appeals James Loki, Himodonge Youth Chairperson.

Loki says the youth in Himodonge will not accept any criminal activities in their Payam.

The youth leader assured the citizens to be free as the Monyomiji work hard to arrest the situation.

On Friday, unknown gunmen ambushed a car belonging to ZOA, a non-governmental organization operating in agricultural activities in the area, killing one person.

The same evening, Himodonge Police Training Centre was attacked by unknown group in which a police officer was killed and houses burnt to ashes.
