Eastern Equatoria State Legislative Assembly postponed the re-opening of its second session after one and half months of recess.

Speaker Ambrose Emmanuel Ocholimoi explained that the postponement followed an urgent call for the governor, deputy governor and Speaker to attend an urgent meeting in Juba.

Mr. Ocholimoi said the opening ceremony for the second session would be held next Tuesday.

He added that on Monday GoSS minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Michael Makwai, will conduct a workshop for legislators, ministers, civil society and church leaders on the referendum.

Speaker Ocholimoi said Eastern Equatoria legislators during the second session will deliberate on pressing issues that include financial constraints in the state, policy statements and preparations for January 9, 2011 Referendum for self determination.
