The government of Gbudwe State pledged full support for the newly created Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan Internal Province in Western Equatoria.
For the newly created internal province to grow it needs unity from all the churches in Western, said Equatoria Kpiawandu Victor Edward, Acting State Governor, Radio Anisa reported.
He added the state government will stand firm to support the newly created province.
Kpiawandu urged leaders to control themselves in order to lead people well and that the government and churches are not enemies.
Wilson Peni Rikito, head of traditional chiefs in Gbudwe State urged Christians to fully support the newly Internal Province.
He appealed to Archbishop Daniel Deng Bull to be an eye of the people of Greater Western Equatoria at the national level.
The leaders were speaking during the official announcement of the first Archbishop elect of Western Equatoria internal province of Episcopal Church of South Sudan at Tiimbiro Diocese in Yambio on Sunday
