Torit road ambush claims nine lives, wounds seven

Nine people died and seven others wounded on Torit road ambush on Sunday.
 
The unknown attackers ambushed Lafon County Commissioner vehicle five kilometres on Torit-Bur road, Radio Emmanuel reports.
 
Among those killed include Lafon Executive Director, Jacob Langoya, who died shortly after arriving at the Hospital.
 
Lafon County Commissioner Ukul Kawong Lafon who sustained gunshots in both legs and the right arm says he was targeted by the attackers.
 
Among the seven wounded include one-year baby whose mother died in the attack.
 
Abwoch James, the Hospital Administrator, says the situation of those wounded is manageable.
 
The official regrets the lives lost.
 
Police in Torit declined to speak to the media on the incident and the Imotong State authorities are yet to comment.
