Director urges Journalists to give public right information

Use the knowledge to give the right information to the public within and beyond borders, Managing Director for Caritas Torit urges on journalists.
 
William Okot De Toby talked to journalists during the closing ceremony of three-week training on peace journalism at Radio Emmanuel in Torit on Thursday.
 
He described journalism as a tough job that needs perseverance.
 
Okot admitted that every organization has challenges, but needs commitment and proper management.
 
Peace Journalism Trainer, Kizito Oketa Modest, appreciated staff of Radio Emmanuel for their dedication and patience in the past three weeks.
 
He believed that they are now conflict sensitive journalists who report based on facts.
 
He called upon the trainees to use the skills gained in the training to improve the status of Radio Emmanuel.
 
Station Manager Lillian Ochoo praises the staff and the trainer for the success of the course.
 
She said the training should have an impact during the implementation of the knowledge gained.
 
The manager advised the journalists to be careful because there is no story worth life.
 
Ilam Lonie Patrick, who spoke on behalf of the journalists, appreciated the facilitation saying and that the group learned to be peace reporters and programmers and how to work in a conflict environment.
 
She outlined challenges facing journalists in their daily work such as inadequate gadgets and motivation.
 
Lonie thanked the management of Caritas Torit for building the capacity of the staff as while calling for more training in programme production.
