South Sudan Red Cross Rumbek branch joined the globe to celebrate the world first aid day on Thursday.

Branch Director Makur Mabor Tungthon says the commemoration under the theme: ‘First aid for and by children’, aims at raising awareness of how first aid can prevent injuries and save lives, Radio Good News reports.

The celebration of the day is to deliver first aid messages for people to join its training to save lives and help everyone, says Makur.

South Sudan Red Cross and International Committee of the Red Cross have trained more than 500 volunteers of first aid across the three states of former Lakes State.
