State Governor David Lokonga Moses appointed Peter Saeed Morjan, Paramount Chief of Yei River County.
Saeed was serving as the Head Chief of the defunct Yei Municipality, Radio Easter reports.
Joseph Brown Lomose, who hails from Mugwo and was elected democratically, was the Paramount Chief of Yei River County before the creation of the thirteen counties.
The Governor Lokonga says ‘whether liked or not’, Peter Saeed is the paramount chief.
Chief Saeed expresses readiness to work for the unity of the people and peaceful resolution of grievances.
He promises to work in collaboration with citizens and government organs to deliver better services.
Paramount Chief Saeed was appointed on Saturday during the welcoming ceremony, local community organized for their new Yei River County Commissioner Bidali Cosmas Wori-Kojo.
