St Francis Chapel of the Sts Peter and Paul Parish in El Obeid Catholic Diocese in Nuba Mountains celebrated its day on Sunday.
Parish priest Francis Angela preached that St Francis of Assisi good deeds attracted many people like the one of Jesus Christ, Radio Voice of Peace reported.
He added that the saint also recorded very important history in the Catholic Church.
Fr Angela urged people of the church to remain committed to their faith in order to be strong in preaching the word of God.
The priest during the celebration baptised eight children and ask the congregation to pray for them to be preachers of the word of God in the future.
Fr Angela asks Christians to be responsible of the word of God and to able to help one another.
