A former Kenyan president said the people of Kenya stands in solidarity for the right to independence of South Sudan.
Daniel Arap Moi told government and diplomatic officials that Kenyans were good willed towards the people of south Sudanese.He urged Southerners to remain united during this critical juncture.
Mr. Moi added that it was difficult for people who valued freedom to rest tranquil while south Sudan was yet to realize the full meaning of independence.
Mr. Moi said Kenya was looking forward to a peaceful referendum done in a free and fair manner.
He added that the people of Kenya expected a smooth transition that should ensure social order, harmony and development in South Sudan.
Mr. Moi expressed concern over the delay with preparations for the referendum.
Mr. Moi concluded that the CPA must be carried out to the letter and maintained by the Sudanese government.
