Former Lakes Governor buried in his hometown

The remains of former first Governor of Lakes State John Laat Zachariah have been accorded military burial at his hometown of Abiriu County, Gok State on Tuesday.
 
An SPLA helicopter brought his body to Rumbek airport where he was received by hundreds of mourners, Radio Good News reports.
 
The body was later driven to State Assembly for MPs to pay their last respect.
 
State Assembly Speaker Marik Nanga Marik regrets that the late former Governor was friendly to everyone.
 
The late dedicated his life to the freedom of South Sudanese, Daniel Awet Akot, Presidential Advisor for Military Affairs, remembers.
 
Born in 1962, John Lat was a holder of Master’s Degree and held several positions including Directorates of Military Intelligence, Procurement and Logistics in the SPLA.
 
The burial was attended by Governors of Western Lakes and Gok States, former Governor of Warrap Louis Anei, a team of SPLA officers, several other government officials and the community.
