Priest asks God to change South Sudanese hearts

The head of Peace and Justice at the Catholic Diocese of Torit asks God to give South Sudanese wisdom and strength, to change their hearts for peace.
 
Fr John Opi severino says the Holy Father pope has called on Christians to pray for peace.
 
Margret Okuye, a resident in Torit laments that the absence of peace makes women and children more vulnerable.
 
She regrets that South Sudan would have gone far in terms of development, if not for the war.
 
Ms Idwa calls on Christians to open their hearts to God as the only option for peace.
 
Pastor Sarafino Oseyek Modesto, assistance bishop of the African inland church in Torit, says it is very important for every South Sudanese to pray for peace and reconciliation.
 
He urges citizens to forgive one another and admit that they are sinners.
 
The church leaders were speaking to Radio Emmanuel, calling on the residents of Torit to participate in a match and one day prayer for peace.
 
The event was organized by the Catholic Diocese of Torit, as efforts for peace in the state and the Country.
