National Security Service closed the Nation Mirror Daily Newspaper in Juba on Wednesday morning without giving any written reasons, editor told the press.

Aurelius Simon Chopee said the closure of the newspaper followed instructions by security officials to stop printing.

He added that they were summoned over an opinion peace published by their newspaper.

The security officials demanded the newspaper’s editors to bring the opinion writer, he pointed out.

The editor said the newspaper also published the Sentry’s report on corruption among the government and opposition leaders.

He explained that the Nation Mirror was the only newspaper that published the report, ‘So we think that this could also be one of the problems’.
