Health officials in Imotong State are distributing hundreds of thousands treated mosquito nets to residents to fight malaria.
State health authorities say though there is a decrease in malaria cases at the facilities more has to be done to fight the killer disease, Radio Emmanuel reports.
Marko Oromo, who got a treated mosquito net, says mosquitoes made him sleepless for too long.
Fred Oredy, in charge of the mosquito nets distribution, says they target nearly 30 thousand households in Torit town.
He says the exercise will continue for nearly a month covering all counties of Imotong State.
Another distributor, Otim Simon, says the nets are not enough for each and every individual, but that many family members will get more.
Health officials in Imotong State discouraged the population from tying the treated mosquito nets around their flowers at home, use them as roofing ropes, fetching white ants and fishing.
