Tombura/Yambio Diocese celebrates successful life of Bishop Gasi

Thousands of Christians on Sunday concluded the three-day celebration of the successful life of Bishop Joseph Gasi Abangite at St Mary Parish in Yambio.
 
Christians should invest good things into their spiritual banks, says Bishop Barani Eduardo Hiiboro Kussala during the commemoration, Radio Anisa reported.
 
He adds that no one should consider him or herself as hopeless because God entrusted all people to have hope and work for it in order to leave legacy for the next generations.
 
He informs people to call into mind the spirit of investing in others.
 
The three-day celebration of the second anniversary of Bishop Gasi attracted dignitaries from the state government, NGOs and Christians from different denominations in addition to the 12 parishes of the of Tombura/Yambio Catholic Diocese.
 
Bishop Emeritus Joseph Gasi Abangite was the first native Catholic Bishop of Tombura/Yambio Diocese.
 
Bishop Gasi was born in 1929, served for 50 years as a priest and 33 years as a Bishop.
 
He died on September 13, 2014 at Yambio State Hospital after fighting diabetes and blood pressure for a long period.
