Health official says cases of cholera are reducing

There is a decrease in the cases of cholera in the country, says Medical Director of Juba Teaching Hospital.
 
Isaac Maker told journalists on Friday that the disease is expected to end by the second week of September, Radio Bakhita reports.
 
MSF Emergency Coordinator Anja Wolz says the rapid response to the recent outbreak has successfully brought quick end.
 
In a related development, MSF has officially handed over Cholera Treatment Center to authorities of Juba Teaching Hospital.
 
MSF head of Mission John Tzanos says despite handing over the facilities to the government, they will still monitor the disease.
 
He denounces destruction of the health facilities during the fighting in the country.
 
The head of mission reiterates their agency’s commitment to assist the country improves its health facilities.
 
South Sudan has recorded a number of the cholera cases in Juba, Duk and Terekeka Counties with few deaths.
